第一章 傳統CG動畫與動作捕捉CG動畫工作流程乍看類似,但每一個步驟的實現方法大相逕庭。
傳統CG動畫:
- Hire good CG animators 僱用好的CG動畫師
- Build character geometry 創建角色模型
- Rough out animation 畫出動畫草圖
- Create skeleton 創建骨架
- Connect skeleton to geometry 連接骨架和模型
- Animate & fix problems 繪製動畫和修補問題
- Render to completion 渲染直至完成
動作捕捉CG動畫:
- Hire good CG artists 僱用好的CG藝術家
- Plan out the animation 規劃出動畫
- Determine approximate character requirements 確定大致的角色需求
- Audition & cast talent 數據員和捕捉員
- Rehearse & fix problems 排演和修補問題
- Capture motion 捕捉動作
- Process motion data onto a skeleton & fix problems 動作數據綁骨架及修補
- Build character geometry 創建角色模型
- Place skeleton inside geometry & fix problems 骨架套模及修補
- Begin to animate again, either manually or with further capture sessions 開始再次動畫,手調或者更多捕捉
- Repeat for all shots until completion 重複所有鏡頭直至成功
第二章 Pre-production planning 製作前規劃
- Understand the desired results 理解期望的結果
- Gather relevant material (Storyboard, Production boards, etc.) 收集相關素材 (故事板,製片板,等等)
- Evaluate stability of the design described by the material 根據素材描述評估設計定型
- Consider working relationship with client 斟酌與客戶的工作關係
- Extract info about each potential motion-capture shot (Shot Breakdown) 每個可能的動作捕捉鏡頭(分鏡)的準確信息
- Characters and dialog 角色和對話
- (Inter) action, rigs, props, location, size, movement, etc. (交互)動作、裝備、道具、位置、尺寸、運動,等等
- Shot timing w/handles 鏡頭時間?
- Boundaries of performance 表演的起止?
- Framing 幀框
- Determine motion-capture requirements for each shot 規定每個鏡頭的動作捕捉要求
- Rough character setup and marker setup 低模角色安裝和marker安裝
- Head/Tail, neutral poses, blending 起/止,中間姿勢,合成
- World Axes 各條軸線
- Units 各個單元
- Sample rate for type of action 動作類型的樣品率?
- Evaluate shots for completion with motion-capture 評估通過動作捕捉完成的鏡頭
- Can it be performed or acted? 能被表演或扮演麼?
- Does it fit in space? 空間合適嗎?
- Does it fit in time? 時間合適嗎?
- Number of characters? 角色多少個?
- Contacts? (char to char, char to prop, char to set) 動作關聯如何?(角色對角色,角色對道具,角色對裝置佈景)
- Are the rigs feasible and safe? 裝備合適且安全麼?
- Can data can be delivered in a compatible format? 能提交兼容的格式數據麼?
- Audition and cast talent 數據員和捕捉員
- Initial Capture 最初的捕捉
- First fitting of cast talent to motion capture markers, sensors, or suit 捕捉員試穿動作捕捉markers,傳感器或捕捉服
- Construction of performer skeleton 構建演員骨架
- Construction of character skeleton 構建角色骨架
- Linking of skeletons, possibly with virtual mechanism 骨架結合,合理利用虛擬裝置
- Test & Rehearse (critical and often ignored) 測試和排演(重要且常被忽略?)
- Walk-through rehearsal 不拍攝的排練
- Proof of Principle motion capture shoot 動作捕捉拍攝要素檢驗
- Dress rehearsal 著裝排演
第三章 Production 製作
- Preparation 準備
- System Setup 系統安裝
- Calibration 校準
- Marker placement 標點放置
- Capture 捕捉
- Tracking (post-processing motion data) 跟蹤(處理動作數據)
- Output 輸出
